About Us

Your hosts are John and Sharon Jarrott, (don't let the name put you off we are on Lizard Creek not Wolf Creek) Sharon and John are retirees.   John is a farmer and was born and raised in the King Valley on what is now Gracebrook Winery. We  ra  iser cattle on a345 hectare farm.  Sharon and John have always thought the farm lended itself to tourisim and thought people would enjoy the peace and serenity of the location as much as they did and wanted to build something where the best views could be enjoyed by visitors. A friend who had been to Mongolia suggested a yurt, they researched yurts and fell in love with the idea of having a yurt on the property.  Sharon visited Mongolia and imported 14 yurts which have mainly been sold but kept three for their own business.

What activities are there?

There are fantastic walks along the mountain ridge which overlooks  both the Myrrhee and King Valleys or you can explore the natural bushland which adjoins the property.  A visit to Paradise Falls and Harry Powers Lookout are compulsory, although we feel the views from the yurt are equally as good.   In winter snow is visible on the alps from the yurt.
